In the current financial and economic climate it’s rare to see a company thriving but Electrix International Ltd, the market leader in Stainless Steel Cable Management Systems, is doing just that.
Situated in County Durham, England, Electrix International Ltd’s UK manufacturing facility has just undergone a 2½-acre extension, now housing some of the most cutting edge robotic technology and state of the art manufacturing machinery available on the market today, with product installations reaching many new and exciting territories over the past 12 months.
According to Malcolm Thompson, Managing Director at Electrix, the success is the result of “…our constant aim to be ahead of the game. We had planned for all eventualities several years before the recession hit and in doing so were able to gain a strong understanding of what our primary focuses should be. Our design team worked hard and continues to work hard on new patents, adding to our extensive catalogue of patented and innovative products that we have tremendous success with.”
Specialising in Stainless Steel Trunking, Conduit, Cable Tray, Enclosures and Strut, Electrix’ highly innovative and functional product design, coupled with unrivalled customer service, has ensured that it continues to be the specifier’s first choice cable management company. With over 400,000 finished products held in its UK fulfillment headquarters, delivery of all standard product ranges is fast and efficient.
Large quantities of Electrix’ UL Listed award winning Trunking Systems are used by many of the leading names in the pharmaceutical industry, including the likes of GlaxoSmithKline and AstraZeneca, due to the ease with which you can clean the installation thereby reducing contamination.
Global food company Mars, which oversees household names such as Dolmio and Uncle Ben’s along with a world famous confectionery range, regularly specifies and installs Electrix’ Sloping Roof Enclosures throughout the world. These enclosures feature unique sealed compartment wall fixing points, which make the enclosures extremely easy to clean whilst maintaining their IP Rating. This eliminates the need for difficult to clean external brackets.
Groundbreaking patents like this have elevated Electrix to the top of its field, but if a comprehensive range of standard products doesn’t fully meet a customer’s needs, Electrix can also offer a Bespoke Design service. “Every project is different and we do our very best to accommodate the customer’s exact requirements, whether it be a special size of enclosure or a special width of trunking” says Martin Ellis, who heads up the design team. “We have recently welcomed several new state-of-the-art robotic machines to our manufacturing facility, which give us greater freedom and the ability to explore bespoke designs more than ever.”
Along with day-to-day installations in the pharmaceutical, food, beverage and offshore industries, Electrix has recently supplied large quantities of Cable Tray, Conduit and Enclosures to the Twin Sails Bridge which spans Poole Harbour in Dorset; one of many interesting and unique uses for the range of products Electrix offers. The bridge, which was opened to the public in 2012, is designed with Poole’s maritime and industrial heritage at heart; the two triangular shaped lifting leaves symbolising the sails of a yacht.
In addition to this, thousands of metres of Straight Edge Cable Tray were used in the construction of the mechanical roof at Centre Court, Wimbledon. The iconic venue, home to the Wimbledon tennis championships, was recently re-developed to incorporate the new roof, which can open and close to suit the ever unreliable English weather.
Other notable projects include the Palm Jumeriah in Dubai, one of the three largest artificial islands in the world. Electrix’ UL Classified Conduit and Accessories were used in the lighting of the 1.4km underwater tunnel that connects the spine of the island to the outer crescent.
With numerous new patents, inventions and product designs in the pipeline, and a new extension to its production facility, Electrix aims to further continue its success and cement its reputation as the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of Stainless Steel Cable Management Systems for many more years to come.
